Born in 1960 in Huntington, WV, Dr. Joseph H. Thompson is deeply rooted in the Tri-State area, where he was raised by his parents, Daisy and Linvill Thompson. A proud graduate of Milton High School Greyhounds, his educational journey led him from a chemistry major at Marshall University to achieving a Doctorate in Dental Surgery at West Virginia University School of Dentistry, ranking 5th in his class.

Professional Milestones

Following his time at Marshall, Dr. Thompson pursued Orthodontic graduate training at WVU, culminating in a Master of Science in Orthodontia in 1988. He took his expertise into practice by acquiring an orthodontic practice in Huntington, demonstrating a commitment to providing exceptional dental care.

Dr. Thompson’s professional affiliations include the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association. His commitment extends beyond the clinic; he’s an active contributor to local education and small business advocacy, symbolizing his dedication to community enrichment.

Married to Jackie since 1981 and a father to three accomplished daughters, Dr. Thompson balances his professional excellence with a rich personal life.

Angie Reynolds, CDA

Certified Dental Assistant / Sterilization Monitor / Invisalign Coordinator – Angie is a very good employee who works skillfully as a chairside dental assistant. She is also responsible for making sure our sterilization is tested and effective and is the office Invisalign Coordinator. Angie can also work in various positions in the office. She received an associate’s degree in Dental Assisting from Huntington Junior College. Outside the office, she enjoys watching her two girls in school activities, and Angie loves to shop.

Emily Ash, CDA

Certified Dental Assistant / PR Officer – Emily is our newest employee and is from the LeSage, WV, area. She does an excellent job chairside and working on various other jobs Dr. Thompson asks her to do. She is also our social Media officer.

Missy Jeffers, CDA

Certified Dental Assistant / Supply Coordinator – Missy started in 1992 with Dr. Thompson and is a very skilled chairside assistant who also keeps the office supplies running smoothly. She orders all our supplies. Missy received an associate degree in Dental Assisting from Huntington Junior College. Outside the office, Missy loves to work out at the gym, she likes watching her youngest daughter march in the Lincoln County High School Band, and she loves West Virginia Football.

Nancy Danford, CDA

Lab Tech – Nancy is a long-term employee who is very proficient in the lab and is a certified dental assistant. She makes all the various retainers and appliances that are used during treatment. Nancy received an associate degree in Dental Assisting from Huntington Junior College. Outside the office, Nancy volunteers with the WV Autism Society, and she is an avid Ohio State Football fan.

Sonya Johnson

Front Office Coordinator – Sonya, another long-time employee, organizes the office schedule by making appointments for current patients and new patients. She also has the important job of answering the phone. Sonya’s outside interests are working with the elderly citizens in assisted living centers and she loves to bake.

Susan Cisco, ST

Office Coordinator – Susan is an integral part of the practice. She is in charge of billing insurance, preparing account statements, working with fee schedules, and making the office run smoothly and efficiently. Susan received her Surgical Technology degree from Collins Career Center. Outside the office, Susan loves the outdoors and the West Virginia hills. She also roots for the West Virginia Mountaineers.
